Perhaps more sad or frustrating than funny, but this is what we're up against trying to park in DC. Spent about 20 minutes one Sunday afternoon trying to figure out how to park legally on this street. Gave up and stayed with the car while the others did some Griswold-type vacation sprints through DC.

When I visit my folks in the DC area I love to try all the neat ethnic eateries- BUT, I now check on parking before I go. There are some interesting places in Clarendon, but the parking is SO BAD that I avoid it.
