Is the 1/4" between shield and other two really that noticeable? I havnt had a chance to hold any of them yet as all my locals are out.

The big size difference between the 27, xd and the shield is that the shield is .23" thinner. However the xd and 27 both hold 3 more rounds. Thoughts or opinions on any of the guns above?
I carry my g26 with a Galco king tuk IWB holster to be honest cant really even tell the dif when carry my g19 other then a little more weight with the 5 extra rounds.
While you are looking at the shield I would look harder at the XDS .45 they are like almost identical size, I would rather have x6 .45 over x7 .40
Here is pic of my g26 compared to y xds

Nice.
Just saw they are now introducing the XDs in 9mm. That will be a hot seller.

To ME generally width of the pistol effects how easy it is to conceal than any other factor.

I agree on this.. Like them slim.

Anyone have experience with Raven Concealment holsters? I'm kinda digging the fact the Phantom can be worn OWB and IWB.
emopunker2004 08:42 AM 01-16-2013
I don't. Sorry. You could probably find someone local who could make u one for cheaper. Hell, you could make one yourself. Not hard to make your own kydex holster.

Agree for me.
I found the Glock 26/27 and the Springfield way thicker IWB than what I personally wanted and that is why I was tossed between the XDs and Shield.
Ended up with Shield due to $200 difference at that point in time and fact it just felt better as was not use to 1911 style safety.

for me, its the width, but just as much, the length of the grip. I end up having to carry everything at a 20-40 degree cant just to keep the grip from poking out.

no personal experience. Excellent reputation. horrid wait times.
Like Justin said, can probably find something else...

Francis. I try to get all my holsters with at least a 15* FBI cant to it. That's what my PJ holster will be. It'll be easier to get away with a pistol that has a longer grip if it's thinner though

Lead times are a little out of hand, but found a couple second hand for a little more cash. I'll just wait for the next local gun show and see what's available locally.

Why OWB carry though?

Thinking it might be a little more comfortable and I can probably still conceal it with some shirts
