Try an Illusione 888. While different, it did have some similarities with nice nutmeg and cocoa overtones on a rich earthy core that turned into black licorice. I had one from 2008 last night and enjoyed it very much. Except for the size, it did remind me of a 2007 Boli corona jr. I had last year.

I would suggest searching the NC reviews on here with the keyword cinnamon or cinamon (people do misspell). I bet you will get a ton of results.
I got 9 pages of results.

As a fellow educator, I felt the same way you did for a very long time. Kept thinking about poor Mike Price (google if necessary)...
I let the paranoia go, and haven't looked back.
Hope this helps, but at least one person understands you.
Finally, I echo everyone else's sentiment... you will not find a fast food hamburger with Kobe beef profile, vintage wine notes under a screw top, or Cuban taste in a non-Cuban cigar.

You know, I take that back, there was another cigar that had a cuban profile, the WCD 120...If you put that in a blind review, I bet 9 out of 10 people would say it was Cuban...

In the south, we have a saying...Just because the sun shines on a dog's ass once doesn't mean that it always does. I was making generalities based on the O.P. and the majority of those whose opinions I respect.
I do NOT think Cabaiguans taste like Bolivars. Not even close. But, as I am sure you are well aware, there is a lot that goes into individual taste profiles.
There is a Kobe beef hamburger that is served in NYC.
I don't drink, so I can't comment on a screw top wine bottle.
I am not interested in engaging in a Moki/Fredster challenge.
Also, I am sure you could dig up a post on puff.com where I thought a RyJ Casadores was NC... based on the overwhelming power, I still don't like them.
At any rate, you just unlocked the search badge on CA FourSquare. Sleep well tonight, my friend.

To that well thought out response, I say
:-)
But in all seriousness, taste is subjective. That's why I asked what profile the OP was shooting for. It makes the searching a bit more refined. Keep in mind though, one person could taste cinnamon where another persons mental link puts that as a earthy or sweet taste.
IMO (bolded for clarity) I would say the distinction between Cuban and NC has been getting less and less.

This has turned into quite the thread. Ted, was that a nudge I felt?

I am completely comfortable hugging it out with Wayne (and Tim, for that matter).
Matter o' fact, I can't wait to hug it out at Shack, Tim...
Shortbus, I don't know you well, but will also hug it out should you feel the desire. And, yeah, that is clearly a nudge you felt. I am very close to an educator who HYPOTHETICALLY has seen a few confiscation letters, and his job is safe! I can't remember his name at the moment, but we're really close.

Seriously, a thread about findings a $8-12 cigar that might come close to tasting as good as a $5 Cuban seems a little silly.
Personally, I have not found a NC that could fit the flavor profile.

Sure, you could buy some over at wades, and ask that they be sent with no box and no bands...No one would ever know you were smoking a cuban.
