I think the thread was more about your list of hobbies rather than over all spending
Guns
Cigars

For a few years .... obsession made them pretty darn high on the list.
Now?
A piece of the puzzle in terms of defining "who is me" but a smaller piece than in the past.

I would say this is a good way to describe them. I love my cigars and love to get a hold of anything new but at the end of the day, if they're not in the budget they're not in the budget. I won't jeopardize not making the mortgage or car payments etc to get the latest or greatest release. I could probably stop buying now and be pretty set for a long time to be honest. I always say too that if I ever get into a bind where I need to some quick cash the first things to go will be the cigars and than the bike. I wouldn't be happy about it but at the end of the day a roof over my families head is far more important than a stock pile of cigars.

At least i've got a pretty decent stash so i can smoke while i attend the next autoX this summer :-). Might not come in first but i promise you i'll be the only one baller enough to be smoking a Tat SW reserva while taking hard corners, all i need is to make a classical music mix and find a way to drink my coffee through my helmet.
Cigars are a "lie-to-have-around" thing, but they are not a necessity. When I have disposable income (income that comes in which is not a part of the normal budget), cigars used to rank in the top three (fishing/hunting, books, cigars). Now, the disposable income is going to other things, like fixing up the new property. It has been 3 months since I bought a cigar, even stopping in at the B&Ms I haven't bought one.
Peace of the Lord be with you.

I'm definitely into cigars quite a bit. However, the one
hobby that takes priority over them is safari hunting in Africa. If I was faced with the ultimatum of never smoking a single cigar for the rest of my days but got to go on a 28-day, full-bag safari to Tanzania or Zambia, it'd be "Bye, bye cigars".

I've had many hobbies over my life . At this time in my life , cigars are my hobby and have been for quite a few years . I always thought I would get tired of them or find something else but this is it for me now . My Collecting of sports cards and beer steins has lessened over the years and was always kind of lonely . With cigars I get relaxation , camaraderie and more enjoyment . So I would say cigars are 3rd on my priority list after Family and work .
:-) Nice thread by the way .

Not very high since my new found fondness (in the last 6 months) for Single Malt Scotch. I try to taste everything I can get my hands on and that has been chewing up my budget a bit. I cannot get enough of the stuff.
I only smoke a couple cigars a week at most. Actually, the humidor has seen fuller days. I think I have 15-20 left and I am out. I really need to stock up when I hit bonus this year.

I don't really do much else unless it's time with the family. I rarely smoke during the day when I could be spending time. I usually wait until the kids are in bed and the wife is watching her shows. After being out at sea for several years it really puts priorities in perspective.

I like a good cigar, but in order of enjoyment:
Wine
Beer
Food
Cigar
Now above all I love a good cup of coffee or tea, but after all is said and done, a good cigar can fininsh the night off right...
Davidoff!!
