Cello off. I use the cello for my balloon animals as I find it's cheaper then buying balloons. I also remove the cigar wrappers, toss em in old cognac barrels and reapply em when I want a smoke. Makes em taste just like an Opus, or Anejo or whatever!:-) :-)

Every couple of months I remove all my cigars from the cello. Then I carefully turn the cello inside out, and replace the cigars into the now reversed cello. If you don't do this, the oils imparted from the cigar will eventually clog the cello and negatively impact the aging of said cigar. This is very important. Additionally, it's helpful to remove and reverse the positions of the bands, should the cigar in question have more than one band on it. My cigars are always thanking me for doing them these small favors.

Also, there's a rumor in the asylum that Peter can predict the future. Anyone else hear this? :-)

Buy handmade CCs. No cello. No worries.

Hell, if I'd just purchase an Aristocrat, they'd stay in the box as well.... Though my limited room keeps my budget in check....:-)

I take the cello off, and use it to scratch my butt.

Because my butt itches.

Just a little white dot since photobucket images are blocked here at work. :-)

I think it's way better to leave the celo on as it
_protects the cigars from handling and any RH fluctuations and gives gifting/trading better presentation.

... but like others say it doesn't matter that much really.

The cello imparts an interesting flavor while you smoke a cigar. It's rather chemical tasting, and can actually flame up on occasion. While I've smoked a Gorilla Finger, and the cello tastes better than that did, no doubt, I take it off before I smoke a stick.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I need you to take care of my cigars.
Not that I think for a minute you ever did any of this kind of stuff, but I do believe you can make me believe it, given the proper opportunity.

And yeah, Peter knows stuff. :-)

Every time get 20-30 Opus and Anejos ahead I take them out of the humidor and rip of the cello, ribbon and cedar and dump all that irritating gold-embossed crap in the trash. In fact, I am recently finding myself offended by cigar rings too and believe I will start taking those off soon.

It's just Johnny Carson as Carnac, so stick your tongue back in your mouth where it belongs. :-)

It's the cigar wrapper that I find annoying. I've taken to
peeling the wrapper off and smoking the binder and filler. This eliminates concerns about the wrapper splitting and
cracking, along with uneven burns. YMMV

I'm currently working on a small dremel attachment that I'll be able to use to both polish the cello and gently massage the wrappers, allowing both to breathe easier.

Wait - today's the 18th. Does that mean the blarney ends for another year?

:-)
