I don't even think I see too many backwards hats these days - a lot fewer than a few years ago anyway. Now the sideways or tilted hat - yeah, I see a lot of those and don't get it.

The reason I ask is it does with me,quite a bit. I might be being unfair but it's a pet peeve with me.

Maybe sometimes it is about the "look." I dunno, I am not a backwards kinda guy.

In all seriousness, the only time I wear a ball cap is when I have bed-head, or hockey-head, before I get a shower. Don't really like wearing hats in general...but when I do wear a ballcap, I prefer it backwards. Sue me.

Nope. Business is buiness and hats are hats. One doesn't have anything to do with the other in my mind. If I respect you enough to discuss business matters, I probably don't care what your taste in fashion is at that point.

I think I would be fired if I wore a hat to work. We're barely allowed to be seen not wearing a full suit (which sucks). Personally, I'm not a fan of the backwards hat thing. I very rarely wear a hat, but if I do it's facing front...and straight.
I have worn them backwards, but it's usually if I'm fishing and the sun is destroying the back of my neck...

I have no clue why wearing a cap backwards has become fashionable. While I can't say that they started the practice, I will say that the music industry and other cleb types sure seem to have popularized the practice.
When I weld, I wear a fireproof baseball cap backwards under my hood because I don't really care for hot slag and sparks in my hair and running down the back of my neck to inside my leathers. Also, I don't bother to turn it around when I take my hood off.
But I really doubt that all those people are imitating me. If they are, I want royalties dammit.

If you're riding a bike or driving in a convertible, the wind can catch under the bill and bye bye hat. Wearing them backwards in those two cases will likely allow you to hang onto your lid. Other than that, I haven't a clue either (unless you're a U Boat skipper
:-)).

I do this too with a welding helmet on.
