On my wedding day I smoked a 2008 Monte Grand Edmundo LE while my wife was off having her hair done, a La Gloria Cubana No 2 after dinner and a 2009 H. Uppman Mag 48 LE after she went to bed (she was sicker than I've ever seen anyone with the flu on our day, nothing other than collapsing into bed was happening that night).
Also, do yourself a favour and buy a bid of your favourite 2012 LE's to lay away with the idea of smoking 1 per year on your anniversary. That way you have 25 odd years of good smokes bonded with the year you were married
:-)

You can never go wrong with an Oliva V, they are a great cigar - period!
Of course, for special occasions I really like the Litto Gomez Diez line, even more than Opus X.
Peace of the Lord be with you.

Monte Sublime was the 08 EL, Grand Edmundo was 2010. The Sublimes were
:-) :-)

ROTT probably the best cigar on the planet, but put a 5 year old Opus next to it and it would be a hard choice for me.

Oh, another thought. Smoke the wedding day stick at the bachelor party with some other cigar smoking bud. Unless she doesn't mind the smell/taste of you after you've been smoking.
Otherwise, if you don't indulge on your wedding night for her, I'm sure she'll enjoy you company a bit more - and I betting you will not be disappointed in the way she shows her appreciation.
The next morning, with a pina colada in one hand, sitting on the beach of your private island in the Carribean (I don't know where you are honeymooning, just saying), you can enjoy a great cigar to celebrate your nuptials.
Peace of the Lord be with you.

I wouldn't pick something I hadn't tried before.
My suggestion would be to pick your favorite cigar and smoke up. It's not the stick, it's the experience. You sure don't want to remember that your congratulatory wedding cigar sucked, right?

I'm getting married in October and have thought about this long and hard. I was going to smoke a Lost City that was gifted to me some years ago, but I doubt I'll have much time to burn a toro. I decided on an Opus Love Affair that has been resting for a year or so. Should only take 45 min. to smoke so you have time to go back inside and dance! The real questions is what to have for my guests...

Yea, she doesn't mind, but rather enjoys the smell/experience with me. I'm very lucky haha. hahahah two days after we're hitched, we're driving back to Massachusetts from Michigan. She's in the Military, and our Wedding is a Honeymoon by their standards
:-) On a serious note, we're going to Australia in the Spring of '13, as long as the world doesn't end, ya know lol

If you've had a Padron X000 series, and enjoyed it, grab something from one of their premium lines. I personally prefer the 1926 series of smokes (the Maduros are
:-)).

Everyone's tastes vary, but for a milder, floral smoke, I think Champagne is a wonderful pairing with a cigar! Pairs well with many milder CCs.

I say go with two- one that's expensive and well-reputed and you've been wanting to try and one that's a favorite you've already tried, in case the first one just doesn't do it for you.

I've smoked the
Padron Family Reserve Maduro - 45 Years, and it was a hell of a smoke!!! Plus I thought it was good right out of the box. Opus' on the other hand, an amazing smoke, but would probably be better with a decent age. They are around the same general price of $20-30 a stick, but well worth the coin for such a special occasion, in my opinion!

I have an Opus X waiting in the Humi, but I've heard that you need to age 'em. The Wedding is in May, so that'd give it about 5 months in my Humi.
Sidenote: What Rate are you? Are you at Cape May?
Forgot to say, the Bachelor Party will actually be just smoking Cigars and having some beers at probably my Parents house. I'm not a huge bar guy, so relaxing with some nice Cigars sounds a LOT better.

Yes you're right of course, over tiredness will do that to you. I was married in 2009 so it obviously can't have been the Grand Edmundo.

Another vote for the Padron Maddie. Best stick I've ever smoked I believe. So far anyway. Congratulations my friend! Steve
