Who would you like to see your team acquire?
Runs
Who would you like to see your team get rid of?
Everyone batting below 0.250, oh wait, nevermind...
Will there be any blockbusters? Or surprises?
of course not, this is the M's we are talking about, they thought trading Derrick Lowe and Jason Veritek to the Red Sox for Heathcliff Slocum was a good idea.
Now that the Rangers are starting to pull away, does King Felix get moved?
Felix is ours and you can't have him!
For the Yankees, while the emphasis is always on pitching, I'd like to see them grab a stick!
I hate the Yankees, it isn't logical
Carlos Beltran would suit my desires quite nicely.
I'll hate him if he becomes a Yankee
Also I would like to see them grab any Lefty specialist they could get.
You can have Figgins, he is a switch hitter, I am sure he can throw lefty too
Boone Logan is awful.
His parents switched his last name with his first, what did you expect?
Does King Felix get moved? I wish!!!!!!
Felix is ours and you can't have him! Felix is ours and you can't have him! Felix is ours and you can't have him!

I've been hearing the Nationals would like BJ Upton from the Rays and would be willing to part with Tyler Clippard. Also the pirates possibly interested in Josh Willingham from the A's.

Biggest surprise so far, the Pirates and Indians are buyers rather then sellers this year!

The Giants got Keppinger today from Houston. Not the big bat I hoped for, but with the Giants injury problems and lack of depth up the middle it makes sense. Plus, it didn't cost us much in terms of prospects. Kepp has been swing a good bat since coming off the DL as well. Supposed to start at second tomorrow.

Sounds like a good pic up.

You should be happy with Kepp. He's not a huge difference maker, but he's a great utility player/pinch hitter who's consistent.

The Tigers traded for Wilson Betemit.
I wasn't all that impressed when he was a Yankee, but he should be an upgrade over the struggling Brandon Inge, who was designated for assignment.
Red Sox are in on Beltran but think Mets price too high, Yanks aren't in, Yet
:-)
Phils in as well, Mets asking for Domonic Brown
Pirates, Braves, Giants also in mix.

Betemit was a stud prospect that didn't pan out. But he was having a decent year in KC. Sad to see Inge designated for assignment...he's a good guy.

And now the Brewers are in the mix too. I don't think the Giants will get him, since they don't want to give up top prospects which is what the Mets want.

It sure is! He was a team leader just a year or two ago (can't remember and too lazy to look up)

I agree, Mac. The Mets need those pitchers to be named later when they again trade young hurlers for old bats.

Reports are that the Mets won't trade Reyes.
Does anyone make them an offer they can't refuse?

I would be foolish to deny that Reyes has earned a huge contract, and could certainly help any team win. Yet his repeated health issues would preclude me submitting "an offer they can't refuse". That is particularly true where the Wilpons are concerned, as they have too often swapped younger talent for older washouts, and may be reluctant to face the indignant Met fans were they to do the same again.

Todays rumors.
Hunter Pence is on the Market, but many teams think the price is way too high.
The Phils are one team that's in despite the high price tag.
The Astros are shopping Wandy Rodriguez and Brett Myers harder than Pence.
AL teams don't think that Wandy can handle the switch to the AL, and Myers isn't having a great year
Hiroki Kuroda hasn't yet told the Dodgers whether he'd waive his no-trade clause in some cases, though he may take trades on a case-by-case basis. AL sources indicate the Yankees, Red Sox, Tigers, Indians and Rangers are among interested teams.
The Yanks have interest in the O's Guthrie, but don't think Peter Angelos will trade with them.
Pad's owner says Mike Adams is staying in SD, but GM says no player is untouchable.
The Yankees seek a righthanded bat (someone like the Rockies' Ty Wigginton) and a lefthanded reliever in a addition to a starting pitcher. The Marlins' Randy Choate, an ex-Yankee, might be the best lefty reliever available.

4 teams believed involved including the Indians.
Kerry Wood apparently told the Cubs, he's staying put, and wants to re sign there next year.
The Chi Sox are reportedly seeking a deal with the Cards for Colby Rasmus.
The Sox would send a pitcher, likely Edwin Jackson or Matt Thornton and a prospect to the Cards.
The Phils have told the Mets no in a trade involving Domonic Brown for Beltran, Also Told them no for Righty pitcher Cossart.
The Mets are talking to the Rangers and Red Sox about Beltran, but many still see NL teams Phils, Braves, Giants as more likely.
