I find that it takes me about 8 (give or take) months to bring my internet/B&M cigars into smokability, only because they're too wet.
Then they'll stay good for maybe another year, then start diminishing rapidly.
That's fine if you like to turn strong cigars into mild cigars. I don't.
I also have found that some cigars, once they get that initial 8 month dry out, their smoking window is real small, as in after another six months there's nothing left of their flavor.
Once certain cigars in my humi "should be good", I start sampling them. If they need a couple more months, they get it. Once they're ready, I smoke 'em.
