My PS3 is pretty fast too.
My PS3 is fast as well, but the Wattage rating on it aint so hot.
Little reverse pun right there
:-)
I could actually save money in the long run switching to a standalone versus the PS3 just on power savings. Not to mention not wearing down the drive on my overly expensive game machine.
And btw.. the Toshiba works great as a DVD player
:-) It's the movies I don't want anymore.

We still use it... It's sad, my 2 year old knows to turn it on a bit before she wants to watch a movie!

The Panny is an exceptional choice, just in a different price bracket than the Sony.

I may have misunderstood.
The BDP-S350 is the cheapest of the bunch usually, then the Panny DMP-BD35K
which astonishingly is 237$ right now on Amazon..
So in fact on amazon right now.
The Panny 35 is cheaper than the Sony 350. (220-250$ bracket)

I'm lurking in this thread with great interest. Last Christmas I finished up a quasi-theater setup in my basement, complete with a 1080P projector on a 104" screen (or 106"...something like that). I haven't bitten the bullet on a Blu Ray yet and they are finally getting into my price range.

Wouldn't think of it

237 is a great price though considering it was in the 299 to 329$ ballpark not even 2 weeks ago.
