I used to love crowned heads four kicks when I started but now they are very eh to me, I still really like the maduro version and love the black belt buckles!

Maybe that’s what created mountains in the first place? :-)

Hmmm... I might be better off using my energy buying some Consuegras

Since the family sold the brand, its not been the same imo. Plus the design of the boxes and bands design, including the logo font, is EXACTLY like Camacho. No individuality anymore. I bet the family wish they wouldn't have sold after seeing what was done to the brand.

Fact: The Torano family farms were the largest producer of cuban tobacco before the Revolution.
Casa Torano Still On My Rotation, Greg! Good Stick!:-):-)

I am sure you are right about that unfortunately...however I'd like to add that I've personally been enjoying some of the post Camacho sell from the family, like the CLE Corojo and the Aladino Reserva line!

They went all the way down the hill and crash landed at the bottom.

Man, this is a long list.

NCs:

La Vieja Habana Early Years
Flor de Oliva Grand Cameroon
(became the Serie G)
Dominico by Torano (original version; the revived CI version sucks balls)
Padilla Hybrid (back when Padilla made good cigars)
El Mejor Emerald (Plascencia made CI cigar that was awesome)
Torano Tribute
Cuban Leaf by Tabacalera Tropical (Casa Fernandez). I swear to God that these tasted Cuban.
Cacique Miami by Tabacalera Tropical. Again, these cigars tasted Cuban. Either they cracked the code or they smuggled Cuban tobacco into Nicaragua to make them.
Famous Value Line Honduran 500 - These were another Plascencia made bundle cigar for Famous Smoke Shop. I think they were a project or new line that got sh*t canned and sold to Famous, because they were probably the best bundle cigar I've ever smoked.

CCs:

Punch Royal Coronations
Bolivar PCs cab version (dress box version are not the same; fight me).
Fonseca No. 1 (inconsistent, but when they were good, they were probably the best mild cigar I've ever smoked).

I use to really like Zino Mouton Cadet cigars. Haven't had one 25 years. How are they now?

Looking for my whet stones, I guess I hadn't thought about it, but during the boom there were a couple cigars that are no longer produced... which, with the resurrection of this thread and the finding of the two boxes (they are hinged lids and great for storage) were brought to mind.

Nicole Miller was a Dominican, it was billed as an uber-premium under her name, trying to capitalize on the boom, and the robustos went for about $15 a stick. Well, they didn't do that well. Lew Rothman got ahold of them and blew them out at something like $29.99 a box. I got one on a lark. I had a couple and concluded it was an excellent cigar! Not $15 a stick, but at Lew's price point, well worth putting a couple in the humidor... When I tried to get a few more boxes they were sold out.

The other box is from Evelio, a Honduran barberpole toro sized. I tried one in the store when I drove by it (do not remember the name) and decided to drop in a look around. I saw these sitting there and the guy offered one to me to try (I guess I looked like someone who might buy a box). It was an excellent cigar, it gleaned and glistened with oil, was silky to the touch, and wonderfully smooth, rich, and complex. As it was reasonably priced I got a box. This however, was another cigar that appeared on the scene and just a quickly disappeared.

I wouldn't mind trying either of these again. I do have fond memories of them.

Todd's mention of Honduran cigars reminds me that I sorely miss almost EVERYTHING that came out of the old Villazon factory.

They don't make them anymore.

Long time ago, Bock y Cia was a brand that JR cigars used to carry in the late 90s early 2000s.
