I haven't seen any of Darren Aronofsky's other films. Any recommendations?

Honestly, neither of those guys really tickled my funnybone on a consistent basis while on SNL. I give a head nod to Phillip the Hyper-Hypo though. Myers brought the funny in that sketch.

I am a very big fan of Aronofsky so take these recommendations with a grain of salt as most everything he's done has been fascinating to me.
Requiem for a Dream - my fave Aronofsky flick. I hate overused terms like "Visceral" and "Unflinching" but both of these apply to this movie. Less a character study and more a study of the overall theme of addiction. I would recommend seeing this first.
Both The Wrestler and Black Swan I would categorize as character studies that flow in two opposite directions. Black Swan was actually my favorite movie of 2010 so that says something. The Wrestler made my top 5 in 2008 so either one would be great when you're in that movie mode.
I liked Pi, but it wasn't anything overwhelmingly great like the others I've mentioned. See this one last.

Making the most of my 30 free trial with netflix.
Watched 'Across the Hall' and 'Deepwater', both suspense/thrillers.

Windtalkers.
A Bridge Too Far.
Well, I watched LET ME IN last night, and as expected, it did not "go there" the way the Scandinavian
vresion had. BUT it was so eerily shot-for-shot in other ways that it was NOT a bad flick at all.
In the norse flick, it was visually depicted that the vampire kid was a eunuch for lack of a better term.
Also it was verbally implied that her 'caretaker' was a pedophile basically, and he did services for her
in hopes that one day "she" would allow him to do what pedos do.
In the US re-make, neither of those issues were covered specifically, but the film only differed a tiny bit
in structure, so it was like watching the same movie. The locations were STRIKINGLY similar in almost
every scene, as was the wardrobe. It was something to see. Chloe Moretz was very good, but the main
character was REALLY good. A cool movie. Recommended.

True Grit. Awesome.

Sukiyaki Western Django. A great movie.
I also liked True Grit 2010. I will watch whatever shred of that movie remains when I stumble upon it
on cable, air, or some commercial-ridden hybrid of the two. Sadly it is usually around the snakepit
that I see it's on, and by that time you have already missed much of the entertainment it brings.
This new one, to me, is better, but the other one may be just too familiar to me at this late date 40 years on.
