Funny thing is that field is pretty nice when it is in good shape. I have been down on the field, in fact I have a few blades of grass in my wallet. But when it gets wet and beaten down, man it gets ugly.

That is really strange... We get a lot of rain here in Seattle and many of our grass fiends can be kept pretty nice... Seems a lack of commitment from management to keep the field in proper shape. Drainage issues can be fixed. Seems that a lot of people are getting pretty down on it though so hopefully it will be fixed...

Amen, maybe that would help give us a home field advantage.

Maybe Shanahan shouldn't try to ruin his QB's career, although I really don't care cuz' I hate the Skins' but he is a tool!

Sounds like RGIII might be in trouble. Pray all goes well!

Not sure why every one is blaming Shanahan.
Your team got further than anyone expected, and that had a lot to do with Shanahan!
There are 2 things Skins fans need to accept
1) Kirk cousins was not going to win you a playoff game, coming off the bench, regardless of whether it was the first quarter or with 2 min left in the game.
Did he beat the Browns? Yes, but this isn't Steve Young backing up Joe Montana!
Guys are backups in this league for a reason.
2) RGIII will always be hurt, he will always have to play hurt.
The style of game that he plays, what makes him so exciting, is what is always going to lead to him being hurt.
It's the nature of the beast!
Also, he's not built like Luck or Big Ben, the hits will always take a toll on him!

In the end, I thought Seattle was the better team, even with a healthy RGIII.
Not saying the Skins couldn't have won, but I thought Seattle was better.

I think the blame comes not from the starting of the player, but keeping him so long even after seeing that he was unable to performed eleven at half speed. There was at least two points where everyone clearly saw the Guy struggeling and frankly playing shitty. He should have been pulled at half. Would have gave his team a better chance to win as well as him a better chance at a quick recovery in the off season.

They need to fix the field, also. Tough call on taking RGIII out, but that's why they pay the coach the big bucks. Shame if the game costs him his career.

Exactly my thoughts, and I wasn't bashing Shanahan in regards to the season. I was saying he made a bad call by leaving an extremely injured and unproductive RG3 in the game so long.

This is an example of Monday morning quarterback.
Shanahan was going to be criticized no matter what.
If he pulled RGIII and they lost, the criticism would be just as bad.
While RGIII was not the same player that day, his coach likely relied on him to let him know if he could play.
We don't know what those discussions entailed.
In the end, the field helped to be his demise as no one expected his foot to get stuck like that and twist that knee in that manner.
Tough call either way.
Kudos to Shanahan for what he did with that team this year.
Hopefully RGIII will be back at some point next year, or if not, the following and resume a great career.
As a Giants fan, I want him around to watch a competitive rivalry.

Monday morning QB? No. I was saying they need to pull him as the game was going on. It was absolutly clear RG3 was unable to function, Kyle dialed up a couple Qb runs and Griffin limped all the way. Did you watch the game? I find it hard to believe somebody that watched RG3 deteriorate like that would not think he should be replaced. It was painful to watch. It was blatently obvious Griffin should not have been in there, no matter who won or lost. Griffin started out the first quarter doing very well for an injured player but you saw a rapid decline in his health as the game went on. I don't know fellas, maybe we watched different games... or maybe this cold medicine is making me lose my mind.

We watched the same game.
I am just saying that we don't know what RGIII told Shanahan. May have been RGIII's decision to wish to continue to play as often happens with true stars.
Shanahan may have considered a reduced % RGIII was better than not.
Who knows?
I guess a non Redskins fan, I don't have skin (pun intended) in it and can see other views.
I personally would not get down on Shanahan's decision or lack thereof not knowing what went on the field/sideline.
Just my opinion, nothing to make you second guess your sanity as result of cold Meds.

Haha, I just feel that regardless of what RG3 told Shanahan, actions speak louder than words, and RG3s actions were screaming take me out. Griffin is always gonna tell his coach to keep him in, he is a warrior. It's Shanahan's descision and resposibility to put whoever on the field that gives the Skins the best chance of winning. I felt while watching the game that RG3 eventually had deteriorated to the point he was no longer the best man for the job. Even Griffins passes were more inaccurate than I have seen all year from him so it's not just his ability to scramble that was being affected. Either way it is over now, hopefully RG3 recovers from surgery with no issues and we can start a new season. I heard a rumor they are talking about terf options too.
I agree it is nice to have compitition in the NFC East. Skins have spent alot of recent years at rock bottom. Will be an interesting devision for the next few years.

While as a true Giants fan it is hard to care for any other NFC East team, I swear I welcome a strong, competitive division THAT CAN KICK THE CRAP OUT OF THE COWBOYS!!! On a regular basis.:-)

How come nobody seems to be publicly bashing Andrews? Ever since the Ravens game, he has sounded very tentative and non-commital about Robert's knee. I hope he wasn't muzzled by Shanahan, but I think he had the power and the responsibility to shut the QB down before further injury.

What's the point in bashing him, the real question is can you believe him? Here's the latest.

Orthopedist James Andrews said Wednesday that Griffin had a direct repair of the lateral collateral ligament and a re-do of his previous ACL reconstruction.

Andrews says he expects a full recovery because of Griffin's high motivation.
