Took it to the range and put about 25 rounds through it. Its a fun and pretty accurate gun to shoot. Yet it kicks like a 2ton mule when bench resting it.

I use a strap-on Past recoil pad when shooting my Mausers. Dulls the mule kick to a hammer blow.

I also recommend pjholster. Theis holsters are good to go too, especially for a full size gun. I have a pj coming for my kahr

Perhaps the ones of today have had the bugs worked out, I dunno. Good way to find out would be ask folks who shoot Three Gun matches.
They make em a lot better these days... but there are still
some issues with em... and I too have a bit of lingering distrust.
I'm pretty sure the 3gun guys use 48 round mags
:-)
emopunker2004 09:07 PM 12-29-2012
I'm with you Francis. You can buy too many 30rd mags for the price of a drum. Elander makes a 40rd mag that looks promising.
www.themakogroup.com has them. I ordered 6 of their steel 30rd mags a few days ago.
:-)

Good price on those steel 30 rounders...
but pmags have always worked for me, so I'll probably just stick with em.
I ordered "a few" of the DSG arms pmags, I think I'm all set
:-)
I did pick up one of the nordic expansion mags to turn a pmag into a 48 round mag. At $26/ea + the pmag, I couldn't really justify more than one of em... maybe I'll regret that if I start 3-gunning next year, but for now, one's enough.
BEST use I could think of for a drum would be a very fun shooting run with a bump fire stock. But I guess if you can afford to dump 90 rounds downrange at that speed, you can also afford the drum
:-)
---------------
Cheaper than dirt has come mags back in stock. No price inflation, none at all.
ONLY $99.97 for a used 30 rnd USGI mag.

Ran across a quality looking billet stripped lower for $220.... but eh, problem these days is all the machine shops are cranking out ONLY lowers, so it's even more impossible to find any other parts for the thing!! "build your own" has become all but impossible.
emopunker2004 10:06 PM 12-29-2012
the only problem right now with PMAGS is actually physically getting them
:-)
Right now I have a 10-pk of the DSG D&H GI mags with magpul followers on order, who know when I'll get them.
I ordered 6 of the steel from mako and I should have those within a week. Pmags are awesome but I think those GI mags DSG sells with the magpul follower are awesome too
spectrrr 10:43 PM 12-29-2012
magpul stopped most production on colored pmags and is just making black now to keep up with the demand. I'm pretty certain I'll get my DSG pmags within a month. Brownells is selling black pmag 10-packs now as well (more expensive than DSG tho). And more tellingly, DSG ended their holiday sale on Dec. 24, but brought it BACK for another run from Dec. 26-31.... Major Vendors like DSG and Brownells would not be doing that unless they had some rough indication from the manufacturers that the orders would be fillable in a semi-reasonable period of time.
emopunker2004 10:48 PM 12-29-2012
They stopped ALL color production until they get caught up on black. It's faster to make them black they said over on arfcom.
You do realize that there are many people over on arfcom who have backordered several hundred PMAGS each! DSG said right now they're looking at a 2-3 month wait for a PMAG order to be filled if you ordered the day they said that. That was said on like Thursday I think.

mmm no, I'm not reading the forums
:-)
Good thing I ordered mine on the 21st
:-)
Shame on the colors, I'd really prefer FDE... but beggars can't be choosers
:-)
I'm actually more hampered by time than anyone else, since I'll be out of the country from mid March through the end of the year. Shipping will still work fine... I'll just get it when I get back. But if it's an actual firearm... that obviously won't work :/

I'm eying a Glock 19... Only 9mm I have right now is the little Diamondback.. I could definitely use a robust, mid size duty pistol.
Maybe a shield 9mm though... depends on the deals I find..
and the mags I can get.
--------------
For $365, that's a nice looking training gun (but I also happen to love the FDE color too) I suppose if not for all the other gun related things being purchased lately, I would have seriously considered it. I LOVE my 1911, but at the cost of .45 ammo....

Yeh but that Kahr is a 45
:-) Gonna be a carry piece not a paper puncher.
Just buy a 1911 .22lr conversion for your 1911.

Can't, my carry piece is a Kimber Ultra Carry, 4" barrel. Don't think they make conversions in that size... even if they did, don't think I really want to mess with my carry gun!
