Sox took 2 of 3 from Marlins, rain shortened third game precluded a comeback. Oh well, Braves up next and then the Nationals. I'm heading down to DC for vacation next week and plan on seeing the game Wednesday.

I expect it will be a week without sitting in front of a computer. I'll check in after vacation.

The Sox just wanted to sell hot dogs and beer? To make people sit two hours in the rain is BS, no excuse for that they knew the rain was coming.

You're right, neither the Sox nor Yankees games should have been played last night. I believe though that the decision to play or not is in the umpire's hands. Not to say that they as representatives of MLB are not just as greedy.

The decision of whether or not to start the game is in the hands of the home team ownership (John Henry, Hank Werner). Once the game is started, continuance of the game or stoppage is up to the umpires. In this case, I feel that Red Sox ownership screwed up and the game should never have been started. Hope that this information helps. :-) The ownership group could have and should have called the game at about 3 pm Boston time but greed wins every time.
