I turned to look, but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone...
What follows, of course, after that last omitted all-important verse, is the greatest guitar solo ever. Of all time. Forever.

Ever since Lauren Bacall died I got this crap bouncing around my head and can't get rid of it:
"We had it all
Just like Bogie and Bacall
Starring in our old late, late show
Sailing away to ......"
Every time her death is mentioned on the radio or TV they say the name of that movie....driving me fn nuts. To make matters worse, when I complained about it to my wife, we ended up watching the video....did you know that eyeworms are almost as bad as earworms? Try this out and tell me it doesn't make you wretch:

Darlin' you got to let me know
Should I stay or should I go?
If you say that you are mine
I'll be here 'til the end of time
So you got to let me know
Should I stay or should I go?
It's always tease tease tease
You're happy when I'm on my knees
One day is fine and next is black
So if you want me off your back
Well come on an' let me know
Should I Stay or should I go?
Should I stay or should I go now?
Should I stay or should I go now?
If I go there will be trouble
An' if I stay it will be double
So come on and let me know

Lonely feeling, deep inside
Find a corner, where I can hide
Silent footsteps, crowding me
Sudden darkness, but I can see

In the silence of her mind
Quiet movements where I can find
Grabbing for me with her eyes
Now I'm falling from her skies

Funny the way my warped mind works. I instantly knew Porch's song. And it even rattled around for a while...along with These Eyes. But here's where it gets crazy....I was hearing your lyrics, Ice, in a Simon and Garfunkel harmony. Wow.
:-)
At the moment, I've got this rattling around....
When I'm with you, it doesn't matter where we are,
Or what we're doing. I'm with you, that's all that matters.
Time passes much too quickly when we're together laughing.
I wish I could sing it to you, oh no,
I wish I could sing it to you.
Mostly I'm silent.

When I'm tired and thinking cold
I hide in my music, forget the day
And dream of a girl I used to know
I closed my eyes and she slipped away
She slipped away……
It's more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play…..

This started the whole album playing in my head. I may have to go look in the basement and see if I still have the vinyl.
I wouldn't mind if all my earworms were songs like that.
A song for the season:
Nobody on the road
nobody on the beach
I feel it in the air
the summer's out of reach
Empty lake, empty streets,
the sun goes down alone
I'm drivin' by your house
Though I know you're not home

I've got "Me and Bobby McGee" stuck in my brain. The Janis one.
And I want it out.

He was born on a summer day, 1951
And with the slap of a hand
He had landed as an only son
His mother and father said "what a lovely boy"
We'll teach him what we learned
Ah yes, just what we learned
We'll dress him up warmly and
We'll send him to school
It'll teach him how to fight
To be nobody's fool
ah Andrew Gold!

Hit the wash cycle with this one today, got to listen to the versions by:
Eric Clapton and Duane Allman
Sam Cooke
Littel Walter
T-Bone Walker
I've got the blues
Gonna pack my things and go
Yes, I've got the blues
Gonna pack my things and go
Well, I guess you don't love me
You're lovin' Mr. So-And-So

Thanks, Tom. Took the same trip at your 'suggestion'. Almost wished I'd listened to T-Bone Walker 4 times instead. Much as I like the other four guys, I think his is by far the best version....to me anyway.

I'm a big T-Bone fan, but this acoustic version of Goin' Down The Road Fellin' Bad by the Allman Brothers is just making my day. Gettin lots of strange looks as I'm wandering around the building singing this to myself. Wish I could find it an mp3 of it for the iPod.

There she was just walkin' down the street
Singin', "Do wah diddy, diddy, dum diddy do"
Snappin' her fingers and shufflin' her feet
Singin', "Do wah diddy diddy, dum diddy do"
She looked good, she looked fine
And I nearly lost my mind...........

Enjoyed that. However, as much as I 'appreciate' the Allman Brothers, I guiltily admit that I rarely get through 2 songs before I find that I'm looking for something from Marshall Tucker or the Outlaws to listen to instead.
As a result, I've now got this on my brain:
Gonna take a freight train down at the station, lawd...don't care where it go...gonna climb a mountain - highest mountain....jump off - nobody gonna know

I see your Do wah diddy and .....
I held my nose, I closed my eyes, I took a drink
I didn't know if it was day or night
I started kissin' everything in sight
But when I kissed a cop down on Thirty-Fourth and Vine
He broke my little bottle of Love Potion Number Nine
