Nah, it's going to take time for Wainwright to come back. Everything else was fine in the game, bats were there. Relieving pitching was there. But I think it's Oswalt that is a free agent right now, we might want to pick that guy up just in case Carp does not come back soon.

Wainwright is going to be mentally messed up from it though, dropping the home opener after the WS ceremony that he was out for.

Totally agree with Oswalt if he's still available ... not so much to fill in for Carp but maybe, more so, in case Wano keeps coming out and pitching like he did yesterday. From what I saw, really both of his starts, he has some major problems with location.

Not really sure what kind of run this team can make without our #1 and #2 guys in the rotation. Sorry, not very cheerful this morning.

Cards Win! (Thank God) Another Saturday game blackout on MLBTV but the bats came alive on an error that gave Holiday a single in the 1st, it was history after that. I hope there is a highlight of Yaddi stealing 2nd cause it sounded awesome!

Matt Carpenter! I wonder if MM will take Berkman up on his offer now, lol. There were a few close calls that went in our direction. The out at 3rd, depending on which direction it was shown from, 2 out of 3 looked like he was safe. But it was a pretty good game, maybe one day Holliday will start hitting runs instead of line drive bombs to the outfield.

Mental 100%. He choked the last 2 years in the Playoffs and we have seen him hit the crap out of the ball when there is no pressure. I think he is going through a full fledged slump.

Ok, I'm done pouting. It was a great game, Garcia was in the form that we expect from him and it sucks that he got the loss. I don't want to jinx anything but Holliday seems to be out of his slump but I have to say I don't know if it's his attitude or bad luck but calls seem to go against him while he is batting. Mott just could not hang with the Cubs batters, I think the walk he gave up set the tone for the rest at bats, he could not find the strikezone after than. I had a post preloaded as I was watching the game thinking we would get the win, but "Well Crap" pretty much summed up the game :-)
