Wild Turkey is definitely worth giving another try. It's one of the bourbons I always have on my bar.

I just opened an owner's select Bulleit single barrel. It's 11 years old and bottled at 104 proof. It's really tasty, one of the best Bulleits I've had.

Some great suggestions from Ben, Jay, James, Dave et al.

Another potential if you find it is Early Times Bottled in Bond, 1L bottle is around $26.

For the Old Forester, my preference is the 1920, but that may be higher proof than you're looking for at this point, Garry.

Nice! My shop finally started dropping some of their BT picks, went and grabbed one today. It's a good one to bring to family gatherings, it's a crowd pleaser and also something I can fill up a pint glass with if necessary :-):-)

Tried both now. :-)

I like the Buffalo Trace more, a little smoother on the finish. They both compliment a cigar good.

Looking forward to growing my pallet. :-)

Busy day!

I sat at home on Sunday night after getting back from watching my Raiders not show up with some Wilderness Trail 6 yr old. It's okay but honestly not a lot more complex than the yellow label.

I am enjoying the Barrell products, more of the their batches and barrel picks from the local stores as opposed to the couple of their finished releases.

I absolutely don't, Greg, I have enough bourbon to last me to Social Security. :-)

I totally agree with you, Jay, the picks and blends are the way to go. The 14 year single barrels can be outstanding.

Speaking of outstanding, my latest Jack Daniel's BP pick is just amazing.

Me too...

Picked up a fun one over the weekend, Copper Sky's first edition of an annual release "Copper Accord." This release was part lower aged MGP bourbon finished in apple brandy casks, part 13 year double oaked bourbon and part 16.5 year light whiskey. It lands just under 125 proof and drinks like caramel apple. I'm a big fan, cracked it open on Sunday with a friend and a couple other bottles :-)

Nice Ben! I know that Copper Sky you turned me onto was delicious.

How was the Remus Reserve?
