My homebrew that just finished the bottling process and I just cracked the first one. Also, Newcastle and Sierra Nevada.

It is a hefeweizen but they make two varieties, a dark(dunkel) and a light(helles), the dark being my favorite beer to date! :-)

It was the Helles then. Light in color. I loved it.

How is the dunkel then?

Opened a small 7oz bottle of Rogues XS Russian Imperial Stout .

This is a very different R.I.S. compared to others I've had. The two main flavors I get are chocolate and black cherries. There isn't much else going on with this beer. It's a nice change of pace beer.

Opened a Surly's Furious.

So far so good. :-)

I had one a few nights ago, it was really good but almost so over the top hoppy that it killed my palette for the rest of the evening. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed every sip but I will make it my only/last beer of the day next time.

Thank you for your service sir, people don't realize the extent of the sacrifices you have to make defending this country.
