That little Canon on your Flickr page isn't a new point and shoot? The amount of knobs it has
or how much control it gives you does not disqualify it for P&S status, might I remind you.

Lol. I've had that. I'm selling it. That's why there are pix of it

Any camera can be a point and shoot. Like when I hand the 6D to the wife and put it on Auto mode, then, it's essentially a point and shoot.

I have yet to finish charging the battery so I can find out the shutter count on this
D700, but I did get to see just how bashed up a G-rated D700 looks. "
Good"...not
Very good.
This thing has been beaten to death, the first time I have SEEN such an abused camera
from them, so now I know how the other half lives. I think when you are paying over a
thousand dollars for a camera, you should TRY to factor in the spare 3-400 bucks it would
take to never have to SEE this kind of abuse. But there is a part of me that KNOWS that
abuse marks like this are NO MORE useful in determining how much a camera was used
before it was sold off. There are people, and I have said this before, who will use the
last ounce a camera has to give and still sell it for top dollar cause they were simply more
CAREFUL in the way they used it up. So without further ado, I need to stick a card in this pup
and see how bad it is. Hell, this person used the camera so hard that most of the buttons
can't even be read anymore. I had to look at a pic online to see what the hell was where.
Luckily by now most of them are second nature for me.

good looking D700. Thats the way a properly used body should look. I used to own a 1D2 that look like that. I loved the battle scars on it

You wanna buy a mint condition D70? I can offer you your pick of lenses
to go with it.
As is usual lately, Ado sent me some bull5hi+ chinese wall charger for the battery.
RIGHT NOW I can't get the battery to charge on it. If that continues, I will likely
send it back and stop trolling the dregs.
Picked up a few stars, though....180mm 2.8 ED manual focus lens, a 105mm 2.5 manual
focus lens and a 85mm 2.0 manual lens. My D200 is fully capable of using those lenses
to their potential, so I am not cutting this thing any slack. But I still have so much to test
before I jump to conclusions. I am such a maroon....I thought last night to bring a fresh
batt to have with me today, but thought, "nah, they will send a charger with the battery
and camera." Which they did, but it ain't gettin it. Had I listened to my own counsel,
I'd already know the shutter count. I have a D70 and battery on hand, but of course, I can
use a D700 batt in a D70, but not vice versa.

sold the point and shoot. used the money to buy a used 40mm f/2.8 pancake lens
:-)

Ahh, so that photo was stored there for sales porpoises.....
It specced out pretty good when my nosy instinct kicked in and I had to go
out and read about it. It would be nice to have in 2013. My pocket cam is
about 2002 vintage. And all the times I troll the Ado listings, I see great
cheap used pocket cams, but I guess I don't care how well I take pics in
places where I can't easily bring a DSLR....at least not enough to buy something
newer.

man, I've heard of specialty lenses, but a lens just for making breakfast??
Now THAT is yuppie Americana.
As for selling off my D70, nah...I mean I would sell one to YOU HERE, but outside
that, I will keep it for family members that might want one. It has too little value
to even bother with all the logistics and rejection that selling and shipping such a
camera entails. Besides, the sucker has a 1/500th flash sync speed! I lent it to
a girl here at work to test drive before buying it, and this person is perpetually broke,
so were it not a spare D70, I would have thought that a bit useless....she took some
damn good pics with it, just family snaps, but VERY colorful and crisp and well exposed
in terms of both contrast and level. I bet if she could see them bigger than 1.5 inches,
she might buy it. Hell maybe she DID USB em out of the camera already before she
returned it. Both outdoors and inside with the flash, PERFECT exposure and focus.

Yeah i was just funnin ya. Wondering why you need a pancake lens in the
first place. Having trouble sticking the 6D in your pocket? Of course you
could ask me why I need half a dozen manual focus lenses for a auto-focus
camera......

Makes it a light walking camera. Less intimidating take street shots of people. It also has great IQ. Silent focusing as well
