I understand that people have opinions and like to share them. Hell, I share mine all of the time. Most people tolerate most of what I say, and I tolerate most of what others say. Many of the comments in this thread are very nonconstructive. No biggie. I know I can post in thread about drinking booze and mention all of the reasons I don't drink and why I think many others should not as well. I don't though. If people wish to make comments in this thread about how they don't agree with what's happening, etc., whatever. It's their prerogative.
When someone eludes to what is being disclosed or not on a forum they are not on it is BS. The claims you are making sir are out of ignorance either because you are not a member, have not actually browsed that forum, or are misinformed. I am not say you are ignorant, for that would be ignorant of me. I am using the word in it's truest context. Please refrain from making bold comments on something you know absolutely nothing about.
I did join the S&S club. I did it for the sticks, because $150 for what I have faith is coming, is worth more to me than if I dropped that cash on $150 of whatever in a B&M locally. I am rather impressed on what Pete is doing with this so far, and do poke around that forum because of it. As I had imagined, it seems like he's doing this mostly to have fun. If you are a member there, you surely know this.
I've seen some good things happening from the members there. I enjoy the site. I'll never spend as much time there as I do here, for this is my home. CA has done for me what I never had imagined an online forum could and I love this place.
As far as what information he releases, I'll refrain from repeating it openly out of respect for those members of S&S who do pay for that knowledge, not because I feel somehow elevated. I see no reason for those who don't join S&S to practice outgroup prejudice against others who do join though. It's not very brotherly IMO and I think it's just plain childish.

Mario, you are certainly entitled to post your opinion (as you have done here). And to some extent I agree. But not entirely. Many people post in many threads about things they are not knowledgeable about. You don't get to decide who gets to post on what subjects. In fact, neither do the admins - restricted access to certain sub-forums notwithstanding. Participation in an online community takes a thick skin sometimes to overlook stuff and grit your teeth if you have to. Also, what each of us post shapes how others perceive us. But different people form different perceptions of the same thing. What you may see as childish, I (or others) may see as a valid opposing point of view. As long as members here are not personally attacked, I see no problem with these posts critical of the S&S club. Now if person A calls person B an idiot because they chose to join, that is a different story. Not acceptable.
I've rambled enough. Hopefully I've been clear in making my point.
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Peter, I was mostly referring to certain posts from one person who is making false claims to certain content. I see your point though. We are all free to do what we will within reason. This is one of the many reasons I do call this place you have for us home. As you mentioned, I have stated my opinion. Thank you for chiming in and being you.

Just put that one person on your ignore list. Problem solved.

Not always a good thing as you may otherwise miss Birthday wishes.

On the motorcycle board I moderate for I also encourage ignore lists. If you notice the same folks raising your blood pressure over and over and over again, why let them? Just ignore them and then have the will power not to view their squashed posts.
Forums are like cities, sometimes small, sometimes large. It's really not possible to like every single person in every town you visit, just part of being human. If you find someone you don't agree with, so what? Not like you have to meet up in r/l and go have a smoke together.
Sorry for the additional derail.

I find this to be a great post. Sometimes, even a thread (this one...or others for that matter) kind of polarize based on topic and make that ignore button that much more helpful.
Like you said, no reason to get worked up over cigars. We all do this for FUN!

That would really suck, never knowing who is wishing you well.

Well since you are both refering to me, I appologize for interjecting opinion into an opinion based thread on which plenty of people were saying it wasn't for them as well. Although I doubt either of you will see it and apparently have missed it thus far, I have merely tried to add some fun with my opinion. I fear that now you have both failed to see the humor in my opinion, but others here will attest that the theory of an exclusive club is not for them either.
There are plenty of opinions that people have in this forum, some are agreed with by many, some are agreed with by few. It would appear that on this topic, I am not merely the minority for my opinion of the club being hype. If you are satisfied with the moniker of being a Saints and Sinners Member, then the $150 is well spent, but to discount the fact that some do not feel the need to be in an 'exclusive' club seems to be contradictory to your 'brotherhood' claim as well.
I am sorry for giving my opinion on this thread and especially sorry for trying to make it humorous. This is a forum intended for fun enjoyment of a common hobby we all share, I guess my fun may be percieved differently by different people and my appologies to those who find my posts on the club offensive.
:-)

I still didn't join up. I got an email and tried to check something out, and it didn't work. I wasn't going to join anyways, just wanted to stay in the loop.
I'm excited to see what the cigars are that the guys get for the $150. In my way of thinking, there's your value. All the other stuff is just valueless marketing fluff to me.
Now, if I could save 10 bucks on a Tat hat and I like Tat swag, there's some value. I just haven't seen what that entails.
The "exclusive news" will be smeared all over our home here within four seconds of it hitting the internet, so I really don't see much value there.
I just don't like Tatuaje cigars. It bums me out, cause there's so many gazillions that come across the board. That point was to make sense of the fact that I may still join for the smokes because so many of my friends would love them as gifts.
I'm just not remotely sold that there might be $150 value in said smokes, ya know?
Put them away for five years and maybe?

You wouldn't by any chance be referring to giving your opinion pro or anti as was suggested by the OP on post number 1, would you?
That just wouldn't be proper.

Concept (simplified and described by me): Join for a certain amount of $ and get access to discounts on LE cigars & swag that others cannot.
Who is going to be joining/passing?
Thoughts on Pete's concept for the club?

When the club packs start shipping I have no doubt someone will post a picture in the recent purchases thread - when that happens everyone can judge for themselves. From the initial glance it looks worth it to me, but I have no problem paying 20-40 bucks a cigar if I really want something (some people are willing to pay a lot more). If you don't smoke a lot or would rather buy a box of something you know you like, go for it.
If it doesn't seem worth it to someone, no worries. Smoke what you like. If you like Tatuajes and do not want to join the club, keep smoking what you like.
