Just bat 8, let them take an out at 2... at least that way youre not hitting into a dp!

I feel bad for Leake that one pitch ruined his complete game. Helluva job by the kid and I look forward to seeing him in the rotation for next year.

Stubbs has 19 games to get 15 K's for 200. He has been moving up the All-Time ranks fast. 16th already and only 5 more to make the top 10. He is only 10 from the Reds record and has an outside shot at finishing in the top 3 All-time.
:-)
Also of note, he didn't start game 2 and they won, starts game 1 and 3 and they lost.
:-)

I'm hoping he makes it to top 5 in all honesty, its giving me something to cheer for over the next 2+ weeks! I'd love to see him set the new record (for the Reds, no way he makes it to 233)!!!

I will try one more time here, but so far it has been to no avail. At the end of the day we are all REDS fans. Some are negative, some are OVERTLY POSITIVE. But at the end of the day, we still love and BLEED Cincinnati RED. Is being a homer so bad? We need "homers" to buy tickets, and we need regular fans to buy tickets and merchandise so BC can legitimately say that he can up the payroll and that may (may, not guaranteed) help him to decide to increase payroll so we have a shot at making the playoffs again. Next year is our only shot to make it for a while to come, so if we don't support BC this year and in the offseason, then we are gonna be SOL for years to come.
So what I'm asking is this: can we all just get along, whether we think one fan in here is a homer or not? Agree to disagree, but don't belittle or single out one person in this thread b/c we think that he is too positive/not as skeptical as us or whatever the case may be. I hate to see one Reds fan hit the ignore button on other Reds fans b/c of this.
Don't get me wrong, I've piled on too at one point or another , but it's gone too far at this point. I've meant it as harmless fun, and I assume that others have meant the same, but I really think that feelings have started to become hurt (even though it's just an internet thread), and I don't think that's in the true spirit of Cigar Asylum. We all came here to be friends and enjoy friendships with one another, whether that's in person or just through online usernames, but the fact of the matter is that we all want to be friends and kind to one another. I even got a rep bump at some point for "piling on ___". Not knocking that person at all, don't get me wrong. I thought it was funny at the time, but I didn't realize that it hurt one here.
Sorry for the long post, but can we just agree to be REDS fans at this point? I'm not saying to not disagree with each other. I've actually loved the fact that Adam and I have disagreed over points and have had legitimate baseball debates/discussions. I don't want to see that end, but I do want to see the belittling come to an end toward one poster. It doesn't just effect him, it has effected two or three other posters from participating in this thread. I haven't mentioned names, but we all know who and what this post is about. I am giving it one more attempt to bring peace between Reds fans. Homer, skeptic, average fan, or one who has been used to being BS'ed around since 1995 or before, at the end of the day, we are all REDS fans, and I hope that we all can post and enjoy this place, whether it's discussion on Stubbs' failures, five smilies when the Reds win or whatever.
Please don't anyone take this the wrong way. I love everyone who posts in here: Adam, Waffle, Hugh, Dan, and even that Douchebag who likes the Cubbies.
:-) I just want us to ALL get along and be true Cigar Asylum members at the end of the day.
Thanks,
Andy

I am on board Andy
:-) I don't even have anyone on my ignore list anymore. I take what certain people say with a grain of salt now.

By the way, did anyone realize that Cordero became the all time saves leader for a Dominican born player? Pretty cool in my opinion because that country lives and dies for baseball

That was at the start of the game. It filled in a couple innings later. Remember, it was a day game.

Phillips needs to be signed long term. No one year option.

Absolutely. Like you said, he is the face of the franchise. If you get rid of Phillips, I cannot imagine how many hits would get thru the right side.
