You live in Chicago and are just now concerned for your safety?

Does Chicago have/issue CCW? I thought it was just as bad as San Francisco.
Couple of new (to me) toys, finally have a Ruger MKIII and a G43.

I think any law requiring just cause to exercise a right enshrined in Constitution overtly oppressive.
Do you need to prove a need to exercise any other Constitutionally protected right?
The D.C. "may issue" law requiring just cause was ruled unconstitutional.

To hear the Mayor of Chicago tell it there are no firearm issues in Chicago. Its all indiana's fault.

Michigan has open carry written into the state constitution. We've been more free than Texas concerning carrying of firearms since 2001. However, in Texas you can use lethal force to defend property. That's not the case in Michigan unless you're occupying that property (house/car).

I bought the Blackhawk ARC holster for mine. It is adjustable for ride height with two adjustments. I put it in the high ride at first and it printed a lot, because my gut pushed it out. Changed it to low ride and it works pretty good. It does get a little uncomfortable while sitting at times but not too bad so far.

I'd go tan, if you don't have tan. But I'd think tan would get dirty.

I like both but leaning more towards the tactical.

I vote for the magpul set up. While the tac looks cool its definitely not friendly to the hands when out shooting. I am about to build my next AR and cant wait to finish it. Once I am done I just need to find a nice trijicon to go on top!

While I like the look of the tactical, the little I've used an AR with guard like that, the sharp corners can be a pain. My vote would be for the black Magpul.
