I brewed a Berliner Weisse a while back that I like a lot but I had never had a commercial example to compare to. It is a perfect lawnmower beer but I wasn't really sure I had made a Berliner so I picked up a couple examples that I can get here to compare to.

Professor Fritz Briem 1809 - Good, but not all that tart
White Birch Berliner - Great. Nice and tart.

Wish more breweries would get on this style of beer. I'm definitely open to recommendations to seek out if any of you have locals that put out a decent Berliner.

I just finished my first Westy 12. I agree that it was a damn good quad, but I preferred the Rochefort 10. I'll cellar the remainder of the beers and revisit these some time next year.

From what I've read from people with much more sophisticated palates than mine, is 2-3 years is the sweet spot. I plan to try and be disciplined enough to drink one a year at Christmas. But my discipline is typically lacking. :-)

The 2012's are great. I wish the 11's were tasting better ( they are great but not for the long haul). I will do a three year vertical soon.
