I hope they were good cigars from south of Miami.
I would be glad to party with any of them.
And I'm glad they showed their national pride and drank Canadian beer even though it taste likes moose urine. A few bottles of Trois Pistoles would have been better.
I guess if the US Women would have won the Gold, they would have celebrated with Oreos and milk in keeping with the squeaky clean image that the IOC wants all athletes to have.
They have Trois Pistoles down your way
:-)
That's my favorite beer from Unibroue brewery. I alos love their Blanche de Chamblis, Fin du Monde and Maudite
:-)

Yep. Even us savage rednecks can appreciate the fine brews from up north. What got me started was a limited edition brew I found (and I can't remember the name right now - I think it had a 15 in the name?) a few years ago. That led me to the Trois Pistoles, Maudite, and Chambly Noire - all of which I love. I've also had the Ephemere. Didn't like it as much.

Congratulations to our Canadian brothers and sisters for an excellent olympics. The hockey final was a fitting closing for the Olympics even if the USA didn't win the gold.

Canada definitely did itself proud!

Well, except for that William Shatner thing.

Just a thought but maybe to add some more excitment to the summer games the Olympic committee should vote to include in-line roller derby as a sport. It makes more since than some of the icecapades events.

Great job Vancouver and Canada....you did yourselves proud!!!
:-)
absolutely outrageous, abominable horrible job by NBC on its coverage....showing the semifinal hockey match on tape delay so as to allow some rinky dink series to be shown in its normal time slot???
:-)
and then tonite to leave the olympic closing ceremony to show a half hour preview of an asinine, idiotic show with very little value....where are there heads at?...i understand prempting for local news, but that show??? i for one will never ever watch that show again, if for no other reason than out of protest...

Technically, the ceremonies were over. Did you want them to show another half-hour or so of people partying? You're right about The Marriage Ref, though. I lasted about 2 minutes before I had to change the channel. The studio audience was laughing at the stupidest sh!t, and it got annoying very quickly.

NBC's coverage of the Closing Ceremony was also on a 2 hour (or more) tape delay. The live start of the Closing was 5:30 PST and it was all finished up by about 7:30. On the plus side though, you didn't really miss much after the cutover to The Marriage Ref. Apparently someone in VANOC was given the task of listing all Canadian bands that might play (ie. lip sync) one of their songs regardless of how popular or good they are.
On behalf of Vancouver and Canada I'd like to apologize for Nickelback. Despite what Michael J Fox said, we only like to claim the good talent as our own..... unfortunately no one will claim Nickelback away from us
:-) :-)

Also a record for total medal's won by any nation in a single winter games
:-) Strangely enough if seems to depend on the newspaper, all the Canadian papers are staying you were first and we were third. All the European papers list the winner as the highest number of golds...... maybe Colbert is right and Canada is "Europe, just with normal toilets"

They are taking a lesson from US politicians and have learned to "spin" the story to their way of thought.

"Spiin" is hardly the exclusive domain of the US politician, they all learn it at a very early stage in their career's no matter where they're from.
