Island (The other ones) Reviews>Illusione 888

I just smoked my second Illusione 888 and decided to go ahead and do a quick review.

The first one I smoked couple of weeks ago was an okay smoke that had burn issues - mainly uneven burning that I had to keep retouching. I had used a V-cut on this one. I wasn't that impressed so I waiting to try another one before offering my thoughts on it.

This one had been sitting in my humidor for about a week longer at 65%. I also used a cutter to just barely shave to cap off. Excellent pre-light draw that showed no signs of tightness. This one burned almost perfectly with only one uneven spot about 2/3 way through the smoke. The ash held on until almost the halfway mark.

I didn't find much spice in this one but that may be because I've been smoking a lot of Pepin's lately. This one had a hint of spice and a slight sweet, chocolate taste that was enhanced by the black coffee I was drinking.

I usually smoke robustos or toros. I've just found my go to Churchill.

I really enjoy the 888. I have yet to meet an Illusione that I didn't like, but I haven't tried them all . . . at least yet. :-)

Thanks for the review!

Great Review! I've had the Illusione 888 a few times and I wasn't a huge fan of it, great cigar but the "mk" and the "2" have smoked better for me imo. I'm still searching for the "23" and the "hl".

hehehehe...

I knew you would give me a hard time on that one. :-)

Hate to admit it BUT I have never had either the 888, f9, M7, 2 or 1....

I know, I know........

I keep getting distracted by the great tatuaje selection there. :-)

I think next time i'm in there I'll pick up at least the 888 and 2 for now.

I really liked it. It did tail of in the end, but definitely something that will occupy space in my box.

888's are usually my go-to cigar when I have the time to smoke that much cigar - usually out on the golf course playing whack-a-mole. Great review.

Sounds like something I'll try. I've had the CG8 but wasn't ecstatic about it, but have been interested in other Illusiones. Thanks for the review.

I like the 888 and the 88. Just good stuff. I need to find an excuse to pay a visit to Dion sometime.
