Disappointed to hear he has passed. Though not a young man, too young to die. I really enjoyed a lot of your STP stuff & some of the VR tracks. Just good memories of my youth and your music...

Holy Sh!t. Saw him twice fronting Velvet Revolver (Scott with Guns'n'Roses, basically). Heading there the first time and knowing his recent history, I thought we would be the weak link, but I had gotten screwed out of seeing G'n"r by Axl's bullsh!t a couple years earlier. Nothing could have been further from the truth, he was a mesmerizing showman. R.I.P., Scott, unfortunately I speculate that you probably did it to yourself

Once you try smack, there's no turning back. That stuff is hard for a person to kick. I know he was hooked on that earlier in his life, but not sure if that's what did him in.

I was surprised to hear this......Honestly I'm more surprised it didn't happen sooner. I was a big fan of STP back in the day, and I got to see them on their reunion tour at Carb day at the Indy 500......really good show.

Sad to hear this, because according to blabbermouth.net he said earlier this year a needle hasn't touched his body in 13yrs.

Even though no statement has been released, but like Tom I am sure he did it to himself.

R.I.P.

The new stories are he has become a huge crack head. :-)

Rest in Peace, indeed.
There's no greater pain than one's own mind torturing one's own mind.
It's sad watching people ride it right over the edge.

Was lucky enough to see him 4 times. (3 w/STP & 1 w/ Velvet Revolver)

Amazing talent gone too soon. Too bad he couldn't overcome his addiction(s).

RIP Scott.

I saw him with STP in Oklahoma City around 1993-1994. It was a great show, but most memorable for his rather...strange...comment to a fan. The fan had thrown a couple of beers at the stage at Weiland during a song. After the song, Weiland addressed the fan and said quite angrily "You throw one more beer at me and I'll take you backstage and s--k your c--k!!!"

My friends and I just looked at each other and were like "did he just threaten him with...a beej??? What the hell?" The next day the morning radio show was even talking about how bizarre a comment it was.

Nope. Either he wasn't in to dudes, or wasn't in to oral from an angry, high drug addict. :-)
