A very large geomagnetic storm, that was the result of two solar flares in short proximity, made its way to the third rock from the sun earlier today. The results were spectacular and can be seen at the spaceweather.com aurora site.

I did not because, after a week or so of perfectly clear weather, the clouds came back in force. I have some friends who went out central Oregon and had a great time and are now making me green with envy.
