So I picked this pipe up in a lot on the 'Bay.
Nasty looking thing, the stem not salvageable, with a hole. Had been melted by previous attempts to buff.

So I decided to have a go at an acrylic stem. The little Unimat hasn't been used in years, but still worked OK. (need a 4-jaw chuck, and soon!)

Decided to bend the stem.

I think it needs a gold band or spacer to break the colour transition, but I like how it came out.

Looks great brother. The flat bottom is cool so you don't need a stand.

It doesn't need a ring or spacer, it's perfect the way it is.
:-)

A gold band would look nice.

Is this a particular brand or style of pipe? I like the flat bottom.

I don't know the brand of this pipe - it had no dicernable markings. This one is less than perfect, but I was playing around a bit.
The style is called a "cherrywood" - although made of briar. Go figure.
I'll keep my eyes open for a nice example for you....
