Anyone else see this? Creepy as hell.

Meh. Doesn't even exist yet, that's a pie in the sky video. I'll wait to see what it can actually do when, and if, they build it.

Probably not very affordable for a long time :-)

I'd rather have real friends rather than robot minions.

The first 100 are supposedly being released Feb 2016 according to the website. If you pre-order you can get it for as little as $500. Not for me but kind of cool if the company doesn't doesn't fail.

I suspect that many will have buyers remorse. It seems to me that the device is unlikely to do anything beyond what the video shows. Most buyers, I think, will infer that if it can do A, then why not B. Not to say that it isn't cool, but it is cool in the same way that some new battery-powered Xmas toy is cool until two days later. IMO.

On a related note, my BIL was the lead programmer for this "amazing" product: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LOamCjjxwo

And I, for one, welcome our new robot overlords.

Some of my friends are better than others.

Also, OP, this thing is creepy. And I didn't read nearly enough about shock and shatterproof to warrant the investment- my two year old is independent and fully capable of dropping anything all by herself. That plus stairs totals this thing.

Not to deflate the buzz but did anyone notice it was plugged in? As in immobile, and completely lacking any appendages? So it can't move, can't move objects or interact other than making noise, and you have to unplug it and move it manually.
