I've noticed that generally, cigars with tight draws tend to have less satisfying flavor than ones with a good, free draw. On some sticks with tight draws that were cut with a punch, I've been able to open them up with a second, straight cut or a second punch. With a much improved draw, the flavor was markedly better.
On another note regarding humidity level in the humis, I've found that in my collection there are four sticks that are benchmarks. Undercrown, La Gloria Serie N, Oliva V and La Aroma De Cuba cigars seem to be relatively tolerant of humidity variances better than many others I have. If these are spot on, my others are good to go. There are the occasional odd sticks, but this works most of the time. I store at 65% and 66 deg.
