I have to say I'm a much bigger fan of the prequel early years than of the Borg based storylines! This looks like it will continue my enjoyment!

Too cool! I was never a fan of the touchy-feely, vaguely Communist, "Next Generation" stuff.

Then why do you have Santa Seven-Of-Nine as your avatar?

Khan is a possibility, or at least the long-time speculated favorite, and it's all rumors right now, but word is that's actually Gary Mitchell, Kirk's long time (best?) friend and fellow SF officer. He was the one who, in the first episode of the original series "Were no man has gone before", developed psychic powers, went nuts and tried to kill everyone aboard and destroy the Enterprise.

I heard that they were saving them for the movie after JJ Abrams's contract expires. To be directed by that guy who played Cmdr "check out my awesome beard" Riker.

Dude you gotta get a little more excited than that! At least say "I am eagerly waiting..."
This has the potential to be as good as the only other sequel to top the original in my lifetime. Empire.
There I actually said it (typed it) out loud. Let the games begin.

So, it looks like they announced the name of Cumberbach's character at a press conference about a month ago, and it's "John Harrison".
Yeah, I never recall hearing that name before either.
Either J.J. Abrams is still trying to throw everyone off or the writers created a new villain, which, considering these aren't remakes, but rather reboots, they can basically do whatever they want. After all, the Romulan commander from the first movie was a new character too.
Anyway, you can read more at the following link. [WARNING: SPOILERS]
