So my dad has had a few medical issues with in the last six months. He called me today and said someone had left an envelope in his mail box. His name and address typed out and a stamp placed on the corner but the stamp had no post mark. So in the envelope was a white piece of paper with Matthew 7 7 Typed in bold black letters. Also there was three hundred and seventeen dollars in the paper. 3 $100's 1 $10 1 $5 and two singles. I know the verse but im trying to link the two together. Any thoughts?

By chance, did your dad have any bills that totaled $317.00???

It could be 1 John 3:17
If someone has enough money to live well and sees a brother or sister in need but shows no compassion—how can God’s love be in that person?
Or it could be a great person who happened to have $317 on them that day.

People only leave flaming bags of poo in my mailbox. That is an awesome gesture though! Someone knew you could use the extra dough.

I was trying to incorporate the 317 into a bible passage as well. I was looking at Matthew but your fits much better.

Looking at this from a slightly different direction, is there a local support group for your father's illness? The reason that I ask is that the cited Biblical verse is used in a song called Welcome to My World by Elvis. I have no idea what the money has to do with that but the song was my first thought when I looked up the verse.
