Many of you may have seen this, but in case you have not you should check this out. This five minute video titled Seven Minutes of Terror describes the amazing complex landing of the Mars Rover Curiosity.

The rover is as big as a medium sized car and they could not land it using any previous methods so they used a combination of things including, a parachute, rockets, and a sky crane. The 14 minute communications delay meant that the seven minute landing process would be completed before any notification could reach the earth.
