Thanks for the link and yes I agree. Nothing seems to match with info I have come across. It has a number 10225/31, which I believe denotes a bent pipe. The stem is straight and the coloration matches the burl on the bowl. It also has a 12 after England which I think might take it to 1932. But never less an interesting piece.

I know that sometimes if a pipe was sent back to the factory for repairs they would restamp the pipe. Even though it is unsmoked, I wonder if this was sent back to have a new stem fitted or some other maintenance? That could account for the conflicting stamps.
