General Discussion>Recommendations for iPhone 4s case
Sauer Grapes 04:57 PM 04-20-2012
My requirements (in order of preference)

not tacky (won't stick to my pocket)
low profile (not bulky)
not ugly
somewhat durable (won't wear out or break from normal use)
not crazy expensive

What do you guys have and like?

This meets none of your criteria :-) but my Otterbox Defender case is the nuts. I NEVER worry about my phone.

I use the Otterbox Commuter. It's like the defender in a light version. I can still carry the phone in my pocket with no problem but have some good protection.

I used to use the commuter. The 3gs version was my favorite case every. The iphone 4 version just didn't work for me. The piece for the top was sharp to my ear, the earphone plug hole was too small for aftermarket headphones, it broke within a few months, etc.

I will say that they sent me a replacement no questions asked, but I just didn't like it for the iphone 4.

I love my Otterbox Defender but I am really looking to grab a Griffin Survivor. As Vin stated, these won't meet your requirements...but I have nothing to worry about with my Iphone. :-)

I have been using one of these, it is incredibly cheap and it has saved my phone from quite a few drops. Also it is very low profile, and flexible without being tacky.

Yeah, I've had the defender as well. It's just not for me. On the balance between my phone surviving a nuclear war and me being able to carry it around every day in a front pocket without noticing it, I choose convenience.

Good luck. I've scoured Best Buy.
Either it's durable but has too much rubber or
Great protection, but it's 2 piece,
Way too expensive for what I don't want.

I've seen a case that costs $80, but it makes the Phone 100% waterproof. I'll probably splurge on that. I'm stupid, I know.

My wife swears by the otter box (she does museum work) and in on high places a lot Nd has dropped her phone numerous times and the phone has survived the drop. Only downfall I see is the pretty big case which is a pain to keep in your pocket.

I have nothing to compare it to & have only had it for a few days, but I really like my Otterbox Commuter.

I had the otterbox defender - great bombproof case but bulky and would not work in a pocket. Ok for my ACU shoulder pocket but not dress uniform or civvies

I just switched to the waterproof case you are talking about. Picked it up for $70. It's thinner and smooth so it does work in a pocket. It's not as rugged but it does meet mil spec drop standards as well as water and dust proof. I really like it so far.

I use this

For the screen I use a reflective screen protector that doubles as a mirror when the phone is off
