The Liga Privada Undercrown is the long awaited new release from Drew Estate. The other Liga Privadas, the No.9 and the T52, are hard to find due to limited supplies and this 'Liga with a twist' as Jonathan Drew calls them should be more easily available due to the use of a more accessible wrapper. I got this cigar at Intertabac, this belicoso measures 6x52.

The cigar looks great, the wrapper is almost flawless, the band is awesome and the cigar has a beautiful and unique blunt head. The construction feels good. I smell wood and chocolate. The predraw is fine, I taste a fresh flavor with chocolate and pepper. The wrapper is leathery and thick.

I taste coffee, earthy flavors and a pepper on my tongue. After half an inch I taste white pepper with some chocolate. I also get some wood flavors. After an inch I taste wood with cacao, the pepper has gone. After a third I taste wood with some cacao and some white pepper.
Image
Halfway I taste the same flavors but with a fresh acidic flavor, very mild, and some sweetness. The pepper moves to the aftertaste. At the two third mark I taste some cacao on the background with some nuts, herbs and a hint of white pepper. The aftertaste is peppery and mild fresh, like a minty freshness.

This cigar lasted me for two hours. The draw is great just like the burn. I got a lot of smoke. The white ash is firm. This cigar is full flavored and medium to full bodied.

Would I buy this cigar again? Whatcha think?

I like this cigar a lot. I have had a couple with really big veins( stick like) in them, once pulled though they taste better. Saka says they are being more careful with them now, we shall see.

I've smoked about 6 of these now, the Beli was my first one. It was a dud. It wouldn't stay lit and the draw was terrible. The 3 Gran Toros I've had were perfect. Nice, and tasty

The torpedo, or belicoso is the most useless vitola IMO.....and the culprit of 90% of any burning, draw issues I have ever had with cigars. I just don't get why companies continue to roll these!
Great review as always DF!

I can't get enough of these! Haven't tried the beli yet, but so far the gran toro is my favorite size in this line hands down. Heck, even the 6x60 monster is great, once you get over the lock-jaw...

If you smoked the beli when they first came out, they had shipped kind of wet due to the abnormal amount of rain they had in nica at the time. Some time dry boxing or a month or so in your humidor should have resolved that issue.
I have smoked all the sizes and I think I favor the corona doble the most. Of course, when the corona viva comes out that will be tops on my list. It is a wonderful cigar!!!

Is the Mexican Maduro wrapper as sweet as the reviews have stated? These might be box worthy, in Robusto!

I love the logs line, but I guess I just need to smoke more of the undercrowns to see if they fit my palate.
