Found it lying on the beach on Sanibel Island, FL. Kinda looked like an eel; it had sharp teeth so of course I made sure it was dead before putting my hand anywhere near it.

It looks like a black spotted eel. They will wash up on shore after a storm sometimes.

It looks like it might be a snakehead. If so, it has a vile tempermant and is supposed to be the new scourge of Florida. Voracious apetite and mean attitude.
I watch program called River Monsters, and this was a featured fish a while back.
