Coronado by La Flor is a cigar made by La Flor Dominicana and uses Dominican Sumatra and Piloto as filler and a Dominican corojo as a binder. These tobaccos are all farmed at the La Canela farm, owned by La Flor Dominicana owner Litto Gomez. The wrapper is a sun grown Nicaraguan habano. The toro measures 6x52 and is available on the Dutch market.

The chocolate brown wrapper is mild oily and a few veins. The construction has a soft spot behind the band. The predraw is fine though, and first I taste raisin and then lots of pepper. The cigar has a nice band and a peppery barnyard smell.

I taste coffee with is a bit sour and pepper. After a few puffs I also taste a bit of sweetness. After half an inch I taste citrus, some sweetness and herbs. After an inch and a half the cigar gets a little spicy with more herbs, that sour citrus flavour, some sweetness and a hint of chocolate. The cigar spreads a mild chocolate smell too.

Halfway I still taste quite some citrus with herbs, some dry wood and some cinnamon. After two thirds I taste toast, herbs, citrus and some chocolate. The toast and herbs are the main flavour with some sugar as support.

This cigar lasted me a whopping three hours. The draw is great. The smoke is average in volume and thickness. The ash is dark silver coloured and firm. The cigar is quite hard to keep lit and the burn is a bit crooked. This cigar is full flavoured and medium bodied.

Would I buy this cigar again? Yes, I liked this cigar
