Coronado by La Flor is made by La Flor Dominicana and just two sizes are available in The Netherlands. One of them is this 5¾x47 corona especial. The blend consists of Dominican Sumatra and Piloto Cubano with a Corojo binder. The tobacco comes from the La Canela farm, owned by La Flor Dominicana. The wrapper comes from Nicaragua and is a sun grown Habano.

The medium brown wrapper has a chocolate colour and is quite oily. I see a few veins and spots. The band is quite beautiful. The wrapper is quite thick. The predraw is fine and I taste dry tobacco with raisin.

I taste an earthy flavour with some coffee, the flavours taste warm with some spices but without being spicy. After half an inch the coffee disappears, I keep tasting that earthy flavour with some spices and a mild sweetness. After an inch the spices, like nutmeg, grow in strength. The sweetness grows a bit in strength too.

After two thirds I taste wood, cinnamon and a splash of citrus on the background and the aftertaste. The spices are getting stronger and the cinnamon is now the main spice.

The smoke time of this cigar is exactly two hours. The draw is good and the salt & pepper coloured ash is compact and firm. The smoke could be a bit thicker. The burn is great. This cigar is medium flavoured and medium bodied.

Would I buy this cigar again? I liked this cigar
