Last year My Father joined the whole limited edition hype by creating the My Father limited edition 2010 and this year they released a 6½x52 My Father limited edition 2011. The cigar is made from Nicaraguan tobacco with an hybrid Ecuadorian habano rosado-criollo wrapper. 40 boxes of 12 made in to The Netherlands and the cigars have a fixed price tag of € 18,50 each. In total 60.000 cigars are made.

The cigars are beautiful, the hybrid wrapper has a nice and oily, smooth, chocolate brown with one vein. I smell a medium strong acidic barnyard. The construction is great, just like the predraw. I taste raisin with some pepper.
Image
I taste coffee with a little bit of sweetness, full and mild spicy. After half an inch the flavors change to red pepper, an earthy flavor and wood. After an inch the pepper loses some of its strength. The main flavors are wood with some sweetness and spices. This cigar is subtle for a My Father product.

Halfway I taste a mild pepper, some chocolate and wood with a hint of nutmeg. The nutmeg slowly gets stronger and is the main flavor after two thirds, with a mild herbal aftertaste. Near the end I taste nutmeg and wood with some pepper in the aftertaste.

This cigar lasted me for an hour and fifty minutes. The draw is great and I got a lot of thick smoke. The light colored ash is firm. The burn is fantastic. This cigar is full flavored and full bodied but smooth.

Would I buy this cigar again? I want a few more

Nice review. I found the 2011 to be a big improvement over the 2010.

The two Le Bijou MF I smoked last month were insipid and plagued with burn issues. Might have to give this a chance!

I've always been a big fan of the My Father line. I'm curious to see how I like this one since overall the reviews haven't been that great. Thanks for the review!

I enjoyed last years individual coffin version, however I hear the Garcia's are no longer personally rolling these? Can anybody confirm?

I asked this question to jaime garcia a few months back at an event. What he told me was that both he and his father were involved in the rolling prosess but they also brought in a 3rd person to increase production numbers. He tolded me the other rollers name but I have forgotten. This information came through an interpreter. I have no way of know weather or not it was true or he was just pushing a line.
