I joined here almost a year ago and I read a lot, post very little, but love the site. I was at ICC and enjoyed that, but I love this site. I can't stand sites, cigar forums or others, where the members take great pride in berating and beating down other less "experienced" members. I have always felt welcome here and don't mind posting when I have something to share or questions to ask. Great place. Thanks. Steve

I thought some things would be known facts :-)

Well, that pretty much says it all.

The review you posted was beyond "bull s#!t"....it borders on mental illness:

We made the drive to Jerusalem and checked in at the King David Hotel. I had been there once before in 1965 when my beloved grandfather took me to Israel. It was a different time.
I remember being rocked out of my bed by a minor terrorist attack. For a 15 year old, that's pretty scary stuff.

I went to the room, with my wife, and then we headed down to the bar. I brought the Turrents with me. There was a special area for cigar smokers. That was a big relief.
Unfortunately, it was outside. So sweat was the clothing of the day.

We immediately met some tourists from South Africa. Issy Meyers and his wife, Renee... lovely people.
I brought out my first Turrent and handed one to Issy. He tells me he's never heard of it but after sniffing it and getting a lovely espresso bean and cedar whiff, he tells me he loves me.

We snip the ends with my Xikar back stop cutter. I hand him my Blazer lighter and we toast the foot. Sweat is pouring off my forehead.
My wife, Charlotte and Renee are speaking in German to each other. My wife is from Germany. And they are sipping cocktails. My wife likes to smoke the Acid cigarillos and convinces Renee to try one. Renee approves.
Of course, every word is a complete fabrication. I guess you left off "once upon a time" before you started. Oh, and you ended your post with "Thanks to < vendor >.." When questioned about inconsistencies in your posts and your "sponsor", you said:

We ended up losing everything and my wife and I are homeless living in my daughter's basement. My wife makes $10 an hour. We are so broke. My self esteem is so bad, that I've gone on to some of the cigar forums where I've been awhile and begged for mercy from the fella's for some sticks...anything. It's just horrifying that I have to do this.
You know, I'm genuinely sorry that times are so tough but maybe cigars are a luxury you should consider putting on hold? Just a thought there.

Another explanation you posted:

Ever put something on a resume that wasn't exactly true?
No, actually I haven't lied on a resume. I guess that's somethign you would be an expert at. For most of us, telling the truth works best.

Now, lets be perfectly clear here. You didn't get "bullied" you got called on the carpet over your tidal wave of BS. New guys do get looked at a little more carefully. When held up to the light of day, you not only admitted that the whole show was a fabricated piece of fantasy, but took umbrage when called on it.

The forum you chose to "test the waters" in, is a wonderful forum with wonderful, generous people that just happen to have a functional BS detector. I'm sorry your flights of fantasy and illusions of grandeur didn't fly, but that's the risk you take when you post BS rather than facts. If I showed up in this forum and started in by telling you guys about the years I spent in the CIA doing wet work in South America, I'd expect to be questioned a bit as well. None of that should be a big surprise to me or any of you guys.

What you do here is your business. When it shows up in someone else's house, it becomes a different story.

We don't allow cross-board drama here...either from the OP saying anything about CP, or a new member just signed.

Please, no more mention of CP here in a negative fashion, Katmancross. And NotFromHere, you are welcome to join our community if you like, but please leave the other board's issue on the other board, and we will ask our members to do the same.
