This 6.5×54 dark as coal stick offers small and medium veins, invisible seams, a firm construction with a slight spongy give and rich chocolate tobacco and hay aroma. First light reveals a mild-medium body of a deep earth and grass flavor, with great smoke output and a perfect draw. The first third presents some construction problems with a very bad burn prompting multiple touchups and a very uneven line. The ash is chunky and flowery, so you have to keep your eye on it. Flavors are a mild creamy sweet nut, with a short clean finish and decent smoke production. 40 min in to the 1/2 way point flavors changed slightly, dropping the sweetness and cream for a deeper heavy earth, pushing medium body. The burn evened out, the draw is still very good. 1 hour in starting the last third, the burn is almost razor sharp, while the draw is increasingly snugger towards the tip. Draw flavors remain unchanged but the finish is getting deep and has almost a burned taste left in the mouth. Ending at 1
:-)0 the last third was unchanged from the 1/2 way point transition. Photography by BGPictures.com Video on the site.
