The girlfriend wants to buy me a Vinotemp/Edgestar for Christmas. I have been looking around, but they are so expensive. Can they be found for less? I am looking for a 28+ bottle Thermoelectric model.

I got my edgestar as an open box item from compact appliance for around $120 w free shipping no tax. Check clearance>>open box products. Not on there now but if you're lucky they may pop up from time to time.
EDIT: this was the 28 bottle thermo electric model (TWR282S)
Edit again: found my post from a while back when they were up on the site...shows as currently out of stock but showing now at $107

Got my Edgestar 28 at Compact Appliance, new and shipped, for $130. Give them a call and ask to see what they can do on the price posted. They have great customer service and are willing to deal.

Kroger here has an 18 bottle igloo for 90 bucks. Dint know of the quality but doesn't seem like you need alot except a good seal. Just my two cents.

$90 is a good price but I am unable to determine if it is a thermoelectric or a compressor cooler from the information online...

Nope, it is not Thermoelectric (3rd bullet in the description section).

Thermo. I saw the box in the store.
I would get one but I just bought a used vino for 40 bucks. Only a 12 bottle though.

I saw that at home depot last night. Was $149 but I didn't like it. It has sooo much wasted space at the bottom that would be useless for a humidor.
