Some abbreviations suck, but I don't mind humi, addy, cali, and WTF. Why all the hate for abbreviations on a message board?

:-)

You are too worked up over this.:-)

To me, while I don't use them, I can understand their use as a shortcut when typing. I would argue that is how they have all evolved.
After all, these words are all "written" by most.
Not everyone types at secretarial speeds as I happen to be able to.

Here is the really sick part, expect them all to be part of the dictionary at some point. I remember when "ain't" was something anyone with any education would not use. Today, it is in the dictionary. Go figure.

On a similar note: My favorite IT acronym is JBOD. It means Just a Box Of Drives.

Convo! Yep I hate that one too... I'm not actually worked up over this, just found the article I wrote a few years back and decided it was funny enough to post. Now some people will not find it funny or humorous at all but that's okay too...

LOL!

And I *AM* old as I thought Rents referred to having to pay rent, as in an older child still living at home...

(Added RENTS and CONVO... Thanks!)
