I used to do a ton of it when I lived in Montana. I have done some salt water fly fishing in Florida.

Never really used to fish much, but liked to tie flies. Haven't done that in a while either, but still have a ton of crap to do it. Used to be really relaxing to tie, but then I quit doing it. Figured why tie if I wasn't ever going to use them:-)

I flyfish with my husband. He has fished and tied flys for a long time.

Yes... Have been known to huck a fly. Have actually fooled a few on flies that I have pulled out of my own vice....

Yup, me too. '10 wasn't much of a fishing year for me, I hope I'll have more time next spring.

Cheers,

I love flyfishing. Been doing it for close to 35 years. Mostly trout and panfish nowadays here in MN, but when I lived on the East Coast I also flyfished for bluefish. There are hundreds of miles of wonderful trout streams here in MN. It's sort of a hidden gem.

I tie all my own flies except for small dry flies; I just don't have the eye/hand coordination to tie size 20 or smaller flies. It's a real treat to tie flies for northern pike. Compared to small trout hooks they're like tying on a tire iron.

Here are a few flies I tied - a gray caddis, an emerging Adams, and a couple northern pike flies on 2/0 hooks.

BTW, Fissure is being humble. He ties terrific flies. Here are some I got in the Outdoorsman's PIF box last year that he tied.
