...and suddenly hear this horrendous crash.
I run outside to look and find this:

A busted up pickup is 3 houses down.
I thought a tree had come down on the house.
8 hours later, the the Comcast\National Grid\Verizon trucks are finally out of my yard.
The story from the cops was that the driver got his boot lace caught on something and bent down to try and free himself, I wondered if there was a 1/2 finished text message somewhere
:-)
Oh yeah, this is my car, I had gotten in about 15 minutes before the crash

Good grief! Well, glad he didn't take out your car. Probably right on the texting. One around here forgot to turn when the road did and put his Subaru in the middle of a field...upside down.

Did you lose power? Was the driver ok?

The cops said they thought the driver was ok but I saw them putting him in the ambulance.
I think what saved was that it was a fairly square hit and he was going fast enough that the pole snapped.
A glancing blow would probably spun him out and been worse.
This is the truck

Suprisingly I never lost power, just cable and internet.

Damn Rick, Glad you and everyone is alright! That had to hit just right or he would be dead. Very lucky considering!

I though maybe you just had different type of power poles!
:-) Glad your safe.

It's great that everyone is OK -- the police should site that driver for reckless driving! Tying your shoes while driving is reckless...
