Wondering if it's safe to put the loaded five finger bag into the humi. Unsealed bag, of course. I have some sticks that are labeled nicely on the plastic, and have no other way to keep track of them. Think it's safe?

I've done it for years with rare singles in 1-finger bags so I can't imagine why it would hurt in 5-finger bags.....

Do that or just save the space and buy some blank bands and write what they are on each stick's band.

I've stored cigars sealed in ziplocks, five finger, three finger bags for years. The cigars are just as tasty so I wouldn't sweat it. They are also easier to handle.

Good question. You can store them in the bags without concern (unless they are hopelessly wet, then dry box them first) either sealed or not. The benefit to leaving them in the bags is that they won't roll around and, as you have found, labeling is easier.

Thanks for the quick replies! I almost thought of adding them to my humidor app with a photo to remember if I couldn't store them they way they are now.

Yep, I use 5 finger bags for all the cigar I have that don't come in cello. I also save my cello to put some of those un-celloed cigars into.

I had a few cigars that were damaged on the foot from them rolling around and hitting the sides. I put all of my singles in finger bags now with the bags opened and it makes it so much easier to stack them in my cooler and go through them for inventory/selection.

Some great advice here. It does make sense to keep all singles in 5 finger bags to prevent damage when searching for a smoke.
Thanks, guys!

Yeah this seems like a great idea I've forgot what some of the singles I got were (10 or so) and also had one with a very damaged wrapped that's moved up on the death by fire list before it goes completely unraveled.

I am using 5 finger bags until I can afford to buy a humidor.

Sealed or unsealed, they keep cigars nicely. MRN keeps his old crusty cigars in them, so I would say they are good enough for my cigars.

I usually keep my singles in a humidor but on the rare occasion they stay in a 5-finger bag I put a small piece of cedar in there. It may not do anything but mentally I think it helps the cigars.

I swung a trade for a bunch so you other guys looking for bags have at it.
