Hey All,

My wife and I will be killing an afternoon and evening in Ft. Lauderdale on the 10th of Nov before catching a cruise the next day. Just looking for input on cigar related things to do in the area or if it is perhaps feasible to drive into Miami and go to Calle Ocho for the afternoon.

Thanks in advance!!

Jeff,
Lots of threads on Miami happenings.

Are you staying in Ft. Lauderdale the night before the cruise?
Do you have a car?

Miami - calle ocho is a drive from the port at Ft. Lauderdale, specially with traffic. You will definitely need a car.

If you can go down there as you have time, post and we will swamp you with suggestions for the area.

Yeah, we are staying overnight in FL and plan on renting a car to give us some mobility. Personally I'd love to get to Calle Ocho but something in the area would be good too.

The wife and I went down for a cruise this past summer. Nothing really cigar related in the area (at least that is what I found). If you like wine, total wine is a great place to visit.

I would suggest going down to calle ocho. 1/2 hour drive (at least) or go to the big outlet mall.

Have fun!!!!

There is the Seminole Hard Rock casino nearby in Hollywood and a Jai Alai place in the area too. Also a dog track nearby, I believe.

Cheers,

We were looking at going to Las 0las Bvd, I believe there is Macabi Cigars there. The day we get back we get in at 8 and our flight is not until midnight so we might drive to Miami that day.

You should be off the ship by 9 usually, the latest.
You will have ample time for Miami.
If a weekday, you can do all the cigar makers on 8th (Padilla, LaGloria, Pepin, Titan de Bronze, and Padron (nearby).

Perdomo is on the other side of town, on the north side.
If you have never done it, I would go grab a cigar or two and then head over to South Beach. Enjoy a meal and drinks on the sidewalk and the beauty of it all there.

Yes indeed. The beach bar at the Ritz Carlton is a great place to take in the scenery.:-)

Well we are fairly certain that we are gonna head to Calle Ocho on the 19th!! My wife said it would be a shame to be so close and not go!! I wish I could make it on the 10th but it doesn't look like it!
