All Cigar Discussion>DAE smell their cigars?

OK so I find my self sitting here unwrapping a few cigars a day and just smelling them. Then wrapping them back up and placing them back in the humi. I have actually found it helps my palate a lot and has given me the ability to pick up actual smells aka the edge natural smells like hay, CAO Italia tubo smells like milk chocolate while the montecristo MN smells like dark chocolate... I actually have two tubos sitting in my desk drawer just for sniffing when I get the urge...

I smell the cigar before I smoke them, never smell them and then put them back in the humi

Leave them unwrapped and you will get that wonderful aroma every time you open the box.

I always smell cigars when I'm buying singles at the B&M and before I smoke them. I also sniff empty tubos when I am bored :-)

I love the smell of certain Tatuaje cigars. Most have a sweet scent.

Never had a tat, but I do like the sweet smell of the 5vegas AAA, which is really sweet.

Oh my humi smells really good. I have a few that are unwrapped while most are wrapped up for protection, as I tend to play a lot of humi Tetris.

+1 :-) I don't really smell my cigars when I am not smoking them. When I do smoke one, I like to enjoy smelling it before lighting it, and also tasting the pre-draw.

I have some really strong smellers (even still in 5-finger bags!) in my humi and every once in a while I'll just open it up and inhale. Mmm... cocoa! :-)

That opinion is automatically invalidated by your ability to post herein. The weird cannot call the weird weird. :-) :-)

OP yes I have done it, but not often.

If you age them, you will notice the difference in how it smells. Stronger cigars become more mild, maduros will start to smell more earthy, and Opus X will smell of a cinnamon and sugar. Smelling cigars is a good thing :-)

Thank you. Weird is good. Weird is right. Weird works.....

I sniff my cigars all the time. Sometimes I can tell if a given batch is still in its sick period by sniffing them. Other times I just open the humi and take a nice deep sniff of that wonderful earthy/foliage smell....
